How do you t ravel with your guiena pig(s)?

Guinea pigs love seeing new places. Their favorite thing is when it has something to do with the outdoors! So with traveling you don’t want to travel with this huge cage but you also don’t want to be holding your pet for a long period of time. What you have to do is use a cat caribou, it is that easy! I know right now you are probably laughing at yourself and saying that you should have thought of that first. With the cat carrier you have to make sure that you take them out every little while and dump the droppings out so your guinea pig does not get an infection by stepping in its own droppings.

I hope this helped my Guinea Lovers ❤

Guinea pig bedding

Things that you can do to your guinea pig or any small animal cage:

  • Wood shavings or any bedding: As long as it does not have any food coloring or dye if and sort and does not have a lot of dust in the wood shavings then your small animal will be comfortable. Change the cage at least once a week.
  • Fleece: make sure that you put a towel or something to catch the animals feces then it is fine. Depending on how active your animal is change it every 1-3 days.

How should I put my guinea pig cage?

When I first got my guinea pigs I had to find everything out the hard way; well here is the easy way. When you have your cage there is two different ways to put it. If you have an open cage: On the floor in a corner if you don’t have other animals. Or simply on a card table that is wide enough to have your cage and about 1 inch of room just in case the C&Cs move around. If you have a close cage: If your house stays about 73 Degrees then you can put them on the floor. If not you can really just put them anywhere as long as people are moving around. They get really lonely sometimes so make sure that your guinea pig get attention EVERY DAY!!!

Are you allergic to guiena pigs?

Well to answer your question YES you can be allergic. You might be allergic to the guinea pig itself or if you are like me you are allergic to something little like their hay. To try to help with you allergies with them try brushing them every day. Most people are just allergic to their hair so I also suggest that when you are holding them that you put a towel or a blanket under them (I also do this because mine have a tiny bladder). The last way that I can think of is that you vacuum around where your guinea pigs stay so there is not to much spreading around the house.

How mush noise can a guinea pig handle?

Well I say that guinea pigs should have as little noise as possible. I know it is almost impossible to keep your house quiet all day long but don’t go blaring your drum set or guitar in their ears. When something is going on and you see there ears moving then you know it is too loud. I would say that as loud as a loud talking is about as much noise that I would put my guinea pigs though.

I hope this helped and if you want to know more about the guinea pigs then subscribe to my website and get emails whenever I post something new.  Thanks Guinea Lovers ❤

How do guinea pigs get asthma?

The most common way for a guinea pig to get asthma is by them eating hay or food that has dust AKA “the bottom of the bowl”. If you are one of those people that feed there guinea pigs once a day and don’t watch them 24/7 then I would highly recommend you to try your hardest to not get the leftovers inside of the cage with you guinea pigs. Another way that guinea pigs get asthma is if your guinea pig is allergic to something like dogs, cats, or other animals. They could also be allergic to the food, bedding, or the climate outside if you take them outside.

How to keep your Guinea Pig cold in the summer

Guinea pigs have a hard time keeping themselves cold in the summer and they could overheat and possibly die. A way to make sure they don’t overheat is to keep them with fresh water, I know that you are always supposed to give them water but I know that there are some people that sometimes forget to feed them or to give them water when they need it.

Another way to keep them cool is to stick a fan in the room that they are staying in… Just make sure the fan is not directly in front of them so they wont get to cold. If they are outside make sure they are in the shade and DO NOT leave tem outside for a long period of time. Guinea Pigs are not like dog or cats where you could leave them unsupervised and outside for more than 30 min at the max.

They last way to make sure they don’t over heat is to not mess around with them a whole lot and keep the noise at a low sound. I know that must sound weird but guinea pigs are like humans. When something happens that they don’t like there heart starts to race and when heart rate goes us, so does there body temperature. It is the same way how they sweat.(EWW)
